RHEDRUBY COOKS: BEEF STIR FRY

Saturday, April 09, 2016

In this recipe i used alot of chilli peppers and small pepper balls, you do not need that amount as it would be very hot and spicy, you can substitute the green chilli peppers for green pepper and red peppers.

Here are the ingredients:
Green chili peppers,
Beef strips( you can tell the attendant that you want beef for stir fry, it comes in long stripes)
Green and yellow pepper
Onions
Tumeric spice
Ground ginger spice
Salt-to your taste
Cooking oil
Seasoning cubes
Sweet chili sauce (you can use keetchup if you can't find this)
If you don't have ketchup or the sweet chili sauce, you can mix a table spoon of water and a tablespoon of flour together in a bowl to thicken up the stir fry abit. I use both :)
You can use all purpose flour, yam flour or any kind of flour except cake flour of course.

PROCEDURE:

Wash beef in water and season with salt and seasoning cubes, set aside.

Chop the onions and peppers, i cut the chili peppers into thin stripes and diced the onions and small peppers.

Saute the onions

Side note- I used a non stick frying pan, i suggest you use that, if you have a wok that works perfectly as well.

Fry till slightly cooked then add in the pepper and seasoning, since the beef has been seasoned take care to avoid over salting/seasoning

Stir and fry for about 5 minutes then add in the beef

Keep stiring till the beef is well cooked.

I PERSONALLY DON'T HAVE THE PATIENCE TO BE STIRING AND COOKING FOR A WHILE SO I JUST POURED IN THE FLOUR PASTE AND COVERED IT TO COOK
I ALSO REDUCED THE HEAT OF MY BURNER.

This kind of beef does not take too much time to cook through so don't cook for too long.

VOILA!!!! Beef stir fry is ready :)

I ate mine with boiled yams

  2. hey, thank you. Cake flour is used solely for baking cakes as opposed to all purpose flour tht can be used for cakes, pastries and more. also cake flour is slightly lighter than the all purpose flour; lighter in density.
