Holla rubys,

Having a fabulous week I believe? Good then!

I love makeup and throughout my lifetime, loll,(I am very young by the way) I have tried out a lot of beauty brands and products.

I try to be careful and selective because of the very sensitive nature of my skin.

I have tried about 10-11 different foundations and this post is about my thoughts on SOME of these products.

1. Dark and lovely

642

This was my first foundation. I know or THINK *shrugs* it is Dark and lovely. It had a powder too and the foundation was compact.

I can't really remember much about it, think it melted and I threw it away. Oh well on to the next one.

2. Mary kay foundation

products_images_liqfoundationfullI do not think there is any lady that loves makeup, that has not used this foundation. It was my best friend in year 2009 and early 2010.

I began to dislike this foundation (when my eyes finally opened) as it was just too oily for me. It also gave me a very 'cakey' and overly done look. I have never gone back to using this foundation but I think I would try out the new matte one- The time wise foundation.

3. Bobbi brown long wear ever finish foundation

untitled

My girlfriend in my final year in Uni.

I remember how excited I used to be once it was time for my makeup routine. the excitement was just because of this foundation.

It is long wearing as the name implies and has a velvety yet matte finish.

Come to think of it, I do not know why I did not repurchase this....oh yea, the price! hehe! Quite pricey girl we have here ladies. $43?! Nexxxxxxxxxt!!!!!

4. Iman luminous compact foundation

CreamtoPowder_Sand2

This one left me with rashes and spots!!! Urgh! It gives a lovely glow but not an all day product at all!!

I doubt if I would repurchase this particular type, I may just go for their oil control foundation which would be more appropriate.

5. Mac studio fix fluid

M6JC19

YOU KNEW MAC JUST HAD TO BE ON THE LIST YEAH? YOU THOUGHT IT WOULD COME IN FIRST RIGHT? LOL! OH WELL!

The Mac studio fix was my first ever Mac foundation. I got the shade Nw43 as suggested by them artistes in Mac store. Wronggggg shade! Irk!

Anyway I loved this foundation and I still do :p

I mean it gives that glow and luminous look; however it is a bit too oily for my skin (n)

6. Revlon colour stay foundation

RevlonColorStayFndOilyI use the shade- caramel. This is an amazing foundation for combination/oily skin.

It has a form of smell as you apply it but in less than 20seconds the smell is gone.

It does not feel heavy on my face and yes very affordable.

You should try it out :d

7. Mac studio fix

I got this again but in the right shade; NC 50

The studio fix fluid contains sunscreen.

8. Mac matchmaster foundation

MK4108

This is my all time favourite! It contains sunscreen (SPF 15) and is long wearing and has a matte finish. I went for the shade number 7.5 to match my neck and body. My face is a lot lighter than the rest of my body. So I never match my foundation with my face tone.

I love the pump for application unlike the studio fix fluid.

9. Maybelline fit me foundation

cosmetics-fit-foundation-make-up-makeup-Favim_com-417264

I got this less than a year ago and I regret getting it.

It oxidizes like crazy! Too oily, makes me look orangey, cakey..... urghhhhh! everything is just wrong and I just left it lying lazy in my makeup bag.

10. And we are back to my Mac match master foundation.

If you have tried any of these products, do share your thoughts or any foundation you think I should try, do tell :)

P.S- I have very sensitive skin with the oily T-zone!

  1. Marykay works for me any day anytime, fit me works too though annoyingly luminous but I set with loose powder right after application and I use dehydrating mattifiers like no.7 by boots or d legendary milk of magnesia. It helps a lot.

Matchmaster(Y) u can never go wrong with.

The regular Mac foundation in bottle I like to use with milani mineral powder

  2. oh wow! thanks hun! I just got the Boots No7 primer and it is exceptional.
I love the milk of magnesia too but it does not keep oil away for me...it just makes the foundation sit properly but I still have to dab to clean off excess oil..lol
the Boots No. 7 primer is definately here to stay for me.
thanks for the very apt comment.

  3. I agree martial can make one look too overdone and dressy but nonetheless I think it's still most preferred despite the oil and all
