Experiencing A NEW YEAR.

Wednesday, January 07, 2015

A big thank you to my amazing elder brother for this amazing piece, hope it blesses you like it did me.

Firstly I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. That being said, what really is a New Year? To some folks it’s just the movement of time from the 31st of December to the 1stof January. Because of this time / date changed, people automatically expect a change in their lives, their careers etc. A lot of optimism and enthusiasm is filled in the air. They also expect a fresh attitude from God towards them. They believe that a new year represents a new dimension of God’s power, that what God couldn’t do in the previous year he would be able to do it because it’s a new year hence God will be refreshed. In the book Of Malachi 3:6a the bible says “I am the Lord, and I do not change”. So if God says He doesn’t change so why do we expect ‘a change’ from Him? GOD DOESN’T NEED TO CHANGE TO GIVE TO US BUT WE NEED TO CHANGE TO RECEIVE FROM HIM. God is the same God we have been dealing with since he created Adam, he will remain the same God in 2015. God has already provided all we would need in 2015, all we need to do is to change our position and align ourselves to Him to receive in full measure. We must be ready and absolutely willing to make certain changes in our lives. Albert Einstein described insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. We can’t continue to live our lives in a certain manner and expect God to change.

In order to truly have a new year there are some certain things we need to change. I’m going to talk about a few of this things.

1.  Mentality: This has to deal with our mindset about God, Life and ourselves. As children of the most high, how do we see God. Who is He to us on a personal level? Do we really have a relationship with Him? Do we see him as someone we run too only if there’s a problem. Remember we were created primarily to replace Lucifer in Heaven’s hierarchy, and Lucifer’s job was fellowship with God. True fellowship with God consists of daily meditation on His word and offering quality praise and appreciation to Him. Putting Him first in all we do, having faith that He is always there for us are also key in our fellowship with God. Our mind set must be in line with the word of God and the realization that He is Our Good Shepard and we shall not want.

2.  Use of words:  The bible records that the power of Life and death is in the tongue. So the success of the New Year will also depend on what comes out of our mouths. God can only act based on what comes out of our mouth. God deals with the heart. Remember that from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. God will act according to our declarations. God is a God of words. If you surround yourself with negative speeches all day, no good can come from God. Remember the woman with the issue of blood and the roman centurion that declared their miracles through their lips. They both got center attraction from Christ because of the power they released with their words. Learn to declare not just positive things into your life but declaring the scriptures on every situation with gratitude in your heart. Read Joshua 1:8

3.  Discipline:Most of us lack this quality. We make up our minds to do something and promise ourselves we will but at the end of the day, we falter. We need to step it up a notch in 2015, whether it be eating right, dropping a bad habit or maybe even dropping the company of certain people. We must. Discipline can be the difference between huge success and staggering failure.

4.  Prayer and fasting: we should make prayer a daily thing this year, not just our normal prayers but praying extensively in the Spirit i.e. praying in tongues. Praying in tongues is one of the most effect tools to access the power of the Holy Spirit. 1 hour praying in tongues is equivalent to 3 days of normal prayer. It gives faster access into heaven. Now fasting is denying ourselves physical food for spiritual nourishments. Now fasting without extensive meditation on God’s word is a hunger strike. Fasting creates room and space for the Holy Spirit to communicate easily with us. When we meditate during this time, we are spiritually sharper to receive heavens frequency via the Holy Spirit. It’s the best tool to hear quicker from heaven. It’s a time we receive revelation and power from heaven to take and deal with our everyday situations.

Finally I will mention tithing. The mystery of financial breakthrough is in sowing. Finances are like a harvest. If you do not plant you cannot have a harvest. Tithing is our sowing into God’s kingdom and our own future. It’s of the utmost importance. Giving 10% or more of our earnings to God should be a no-brainer in 2015.

Remember that our father in heaven loves and cares for us ever so much. He is willing and able to do all things for us, all we need to do is adjust certain things in our lives. Our faith and confession should stand firm. If things seem not to be going well, don’t fret, keep at it. God is right there beside you always. If we believe and have faith and are willing to follow His every word, 2015 will be the best year ever.

Shalom
