Word of wisdom through the Spirit

THIS is the first gift mentioned to us by Paul. It does not mean it’s the most important gift or one with this gift is more relevant than other members of the body of Christ. As earlier written in previous posts, all are relevant in the growth of the body.

Wisdom can be said to be supernatural intelligence. This gift can be gotten through prayers and He gives us liberally. James 1:5-8, Ephesians 1:17, Daniel 2:21. King Solomon received this gift after he had asked of God. 1 kings 3:1-13. Wisdom distinguished Solomon. The bible says in verse 12 of chapter 3 that God gave Solomon a WISE AND UNDERSTANDING HEART, so that there has not been anyone like him nor shall anyone like him arise after him. AMAZING!!!!! Matthew 12:42 tells us more on this gift of wisdom God gave Solomon.

Jesus while on earth was also of this great wisdom. Luke 2:40 says “and the child (Jesus) grew and became strong in The SPIRIT, filled with WISDOM. NOTE here that Jesus was strong in spirit and then WISE. WISDOM is only born out of the Spirit and a walk with God. Another translation says Jesus was WISE IN SPIRIT.

Wisdom enabled Jesus to teach the Word and have supernatural answers or solutions to issues. In Mark 13:54-58 the bible says that people were astonished by the words and teachings of Jesus.

Wisdom allows us into the knowledge of the hope of His calling, to make us intelligent and discerning in knowing Him personally. It focuses our eyes so that we can see exactly what it is He is calling us to do. This is very crucial as the gift of the Spirit enables us work with God better and not to take us away from Him.

Wisdom enables us to obey God. Exodus 36:1 obedience in turn qualifies us for wisdom. Matthew 7:24
