Talking about airbrush makeup today and I do hope I dnt bore you...hahahhaha...hardly!


Airbrush makeup is makeup sprayed onto the skin using an airbrush instead of being applied with sponges, brushes, fingers(i do not like this method tho) or other methods. Its kinda popular in film, theater, and sunless tanning; though there are some designed for personal use, usually smaller and work at a lower pressure than those(airbrushes) used in industrial applications. Brands I am familiar with are Temptu,Dinair, vogue air, luminess...all are foreign and non nigerian brands,the only nigerian brand I am familiar with is Barbara & 1923. Kudos!

It comes with an airbrush gun, a compressor and the makeup product(foundation,blusher,highlighter etc)

The gun has the nozzle(where the product comes out whilst spraying) the cup(where u pour/mix the product) and the trigger(i.e control)
            
HOW IT WORKS
Airbrush makeup artists will either use a circular motion or forward-back motion with the airgun when applying foundation. Both dual-action and single-action airbrushes can be used for airbrushing makeup and require slightly different techniques.






A dual-action airbrush allows the user to control airflow by depressing the trigger with the index finger and drawing it backwards. This draws air from the compressor. The further the trigger is depressed, the more makeup is released. The advantage of using a dual-action airbrush is that one can use the air as a guide before allowing makeup to pass through the nozzle. Air is also used to dry the makeup after application. Makeup is also mixed in the cup by allowing a small amount of air to flow into it, thereby mixing two pigments. This technique is known as 'back-bubbling'...english  ehh lol!

A single-action airbrush is generally considered easier to use because depressing the trigger releases a fixed ratio of makeup to air. However, in order to achieve different levels of coverage and detail the nozzle has to be changed between applications.


















Airbrush makeup artist argue that it provides flawless coverage (sheer or opaque), by minimizing skin imperfections while giving skin a beautifully natural looking finished result
Unlike traditional makeup (where you rub makeup into your skin), airbrushing sprays a fine mist, so the makeup "sits evenly" on your skin.
I do not totally agree with this because traditional foundation is more opaque, and has a richer coverage. Also, the fact that the finish is in 'hand'-blending, you can work the product into skin; in all the nooks and crannys,lol! You get to be more involved, more detailed; traditional foundation is more flexible when it comes to building up or sheering down coverage, which gives the artist more control over the final outcome. Gbam! LOL!
This is my opinion though you can try it out,you can order on ebay or amazon.I do not plan on getting an airbrush....too addicted to my brushes and sponges.hehehehe.
